Webcetera developed one of the first Java Integrated Development Environments
(IDE) called “Kawa” in early 1996. Kawa was later acquired by Alliare

MACR) subsequently acquired Allaire in March 2001. Just before its acquisition,
Kawa had a subscribed customer base of over 50,000 users.
